Medical Issues…
Black Label Society frontman Zakk Wylde, recently diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, was admitted to a Eugene, OR, hospital on Aug. 26. Here’s an update via his Twitter page: "To all our Black Label family worldwide, thanks for all the 'get-wells.’ Every 48 hours I have to get myself to the hospital ER to check my blood. Had a CT scan today and have blood clots in each of my lungs as well as my leg. I can't sing because pushing can cause an embolism." An embolism occurs when an object migrates from one part of the body (through circulation) and causes a blockage of a blood vessel in another part of the body.

BLS has dropped off the remaining dates on the Pedal To The Metal Tour due to Zakk's condition. The tour will continue without BLS, with Mudvayne, Static-X, Suicide Silence and Bury Your Dead carrying on with the trek as scheduled. Further updates on Zakk's medical condition will become available, as they are known.

Whitesnake had to drop off the current Judas Priest tour because David Coverdale was experiencing “considerable pain in his vocal chords. He was immediately taken to a specialist for examination. The doctor discovered David was suffering from severe vocal fold edema and a left vocal fold vascular lesion. He was instructed to cancel all performances for the next two weeks, and then undergo a further examination. According to doctors, fortunately, this was caught at a stage where no apparent permanent damage has been caused. Regretfully Whitesnake will not be appearing on the remainder of the US tour with Judas Priest. The band stated they sincerely regret any disappointment this may cause.
