Wow! Can 2008 already be over? Amazing. So, that means it’s time for our December/January “combo” issue. This time of year always slows down in the music business (few national concerts; people busy with holiday activities), and this gives HB’s staff a much needed break. This is also our annual “Best Of” issue, when our writers give their views on the best bands, CDs and events of the past year. Enjoy... and have a terrific holiday season!

Sweaty pounding British rawk?
Linda and Kimber, Thank you both and the fine folks at Harder Beat for recently reviewing the band’s show at O’Riley’s on 10/10. We appreciate the kind words and attention you gave us...we didn’t know that was going on and what a pleasant surprise.
High 5 to each of you... Peace. Love. Sweaty Pounding BRITISH rawk...

Benefit for Cole Berardi
Thanks so much for the mention of my little nephew Cole Berardi in the November issue (Local Buzz). The family really appreciates it! Our buddies in The Blokes managed to donate their entire door earnings as well as an additional check. Glen, the drummer even coordinated the event. Tom (owner) of Skillman St. was truly awesome in letting my band have 100% of our door intake for the cause. James (sound) was as brilliant as ever. Brandon (stage mgr./tech) went above and beyond... even hanging our logo/sign for us while we set up (who does that?!). Ninja (bouncer) is simply the nicest guy you can meet. The door girl not only took good care of us, but also acted genuinely concerned. Bottom line is, nobody at Skillman has ever treated us like they were “doing us a favor” (when in fact.... on this night they were).
Friends have really “come out of the woodwork,” and collectively we DID in fact cover his (Cole’s funeral) expenses!
