Drag Me To Hell - Starring Alison Lohman and Justin Long. Directed by Sam Raimi. Written by Sam & Ivan Raimi
All sweet, innocent, meek Christine (Lohman) wants is to get that big promotion at the bank. Her boss (the world’s greatest on-screen sniveler, David Paymer) wants nothing more than to pit her against her ruthless, brown-nosing coworker. Christine, not realizing that she’s in an old school, Raimi doing what he does best, comedy horror movie, wants to impress the boss.
So she rejects an old gypsy’s request for a loan extension.
The gypsy begs. Christine denies. The gypsy is shamed. Shaaaaamed! Standard Raimi horror comedy comes knockin’ at the door.
Best horror movie I’ve seen in a LONG time. Definite must-see, especially if you’re a fan of the old Evil Dead films. (By the way, Evil Dead 4 is officially in the pipes. Can I get a “Hell yeah”!?!?)

The Hangover - Starring Bradley Cooper (hippie friend from Failure to Launch), Zach Galifianiakaliziahcks, Ed Helms, Justin Bartha, Heather Graham.
When Doug (Bartha) is about to get married, his friends swoop in with a Las Vegas weekend. Off they go, hit the hotel room, cheers and BOOM! Everyone wakes up, the night is a complete mystery and the groom has vanished. And there’s a tiger in the bathroom. Mike Tyson’s tiger. And the dentist is missing a tooth. Think Dude, Where’s My Car? and you’re just about there.
There are a few pretty good laughs, especially over the credits. And there are a lot of reasons to never let your friends pour the drinks when you’re not looking. B (Joe Allison)
Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Starring Megan Fox. Shia LeBouf. Directed by Michael Bay
The Autobots are teamed up with our government, running around the globe hunting down Decepticon scum. After yet another crunch fest, government officials are beginning to get skeptical about who, exactly, needs protecting.
Other side of the globe... The Witwicky’s are sending young Sam (LeBouf) off to college where he’s got to wave off Bumblebee for a while. Family drama. Megan Fox bends over a motorcycle. Other side of the globe... Megatron gets resurrected. Other side of the globe... Sam gets chased around by Decepticons. Megan Fox bends over some rubble. And the beat goes on.
Everything boils down to this: there’s more. Of everything. It’s longer. There’s more family drama. There’s more Fox. There’s more violence. There is WAY more violence. I checked out a few times waiting for the next plot point, and the end is just tiring - it’s 30 minutes of nonstop Bay-splosions. Fun movie, and there’s a whole lot of it. C+ (Joe Allison)
