Denton Indie - Not doing local musician’s dirty laundry in public since 2005
High temperatures are on the way. Surprise. But so are the kick-ass summer shows, with some great action north of Big D.

Hailey’s starts the summer off on the right foot with Black Moth Super Rainbow. They hit town in support of their latest off-the-wall affair, Dandelion Gum, and it’s sure to be a great show with School of Seven Bells and Darktown Strutters opening….

The pride of New Zealand, Bachelorette, has an awesome upcoming show, an avant-garde experience to remember… Buzz-worthy band, Mom, opens up for Balmorhea and Tiny Vipers. Mom is the perfect band for drinking cocktails favored in the 1950s, which is great for those concerned with uber-hipness. If you have a “secret stash,” save it for this show.

Fans of Ohio four-piece, Wheels on Fire, will want to note. They make a stop in Denton at Rubber Gloves this month. The group has created lots of buzz due to their “unique” style. We Are Villains and My Solstice open…. The first, two-day rock and roll extravaganza, Do For It Records Showcase, is underway with a ton of great bands and BBQ. Noteworthy acts include Shaolin Death Squad and The House Harkonnen.

Brutal Juice! In one of the summer’s most anticipated shows, Brutal Juice takes the stage at Dan’s Silverleaf. This is a rare event – get there early. There is BBQ… Another greatly anticipated show is the Bowling For Soup 15th anniversary show at Dan’s, luckily spanning two days. These shows are sure to sell out early…

If you are looking for a party, there’s no party like Pop Carter’s 90th birthday party at The Boiler Room… If it has been a while since you’ve seen Rodney Parker and the 50 Peso Reward, they’ll be at the BR with Thrift Show Cowboys and Macon Greyson. Other Boiler Room shows of interest are TrebucheT, The Raven Charter and Congratulations…

Fans of The Raven Charter, listen up. They just finished recording a video – check it out!
