Trees to reopen
Thanks to the efforts of Clint Barlow (formerly Firewater talent booker), it appears Trees will be reopening. Reportedly, the Dallas City Council is cooperating on the SUP, which is necessary before a Certificate of Occupancy can be received. Everything looks good at this point (with a possible late summer/early fall opening). Congratulations Clint!

Benefit at Lone Star Country Club
Three will be a benefit for the family of Leonard Richardson, who was killed outside a Dairy Queen in Carrollton, after a confrontation. Richardson was the nephew of Pino (Ironbone and Hailstone), who is organizing the event at the Lone Star County Club on Sunday, June 7, noon till 8 PM. At press time, bands scheduled to play are Bleed Down, Kevin’s Head, Zenabi with others to be announced. Cover is $10, with proceeds to go to the family.

LaME update
After five years, drummer Sam Waughtel is leaving LaME to return to Houston. He’ll continue playing with the band until Ryan Scherschell takes over. You can see one of LaME’s last dates with Sam at Skillman St. on June 26 or The Ridglea Theater on July 24. The band is scheduled to record this fall with Alex Gerst at Indian Trail Recording (ITR).

Correction
We reported a couple of months ago, that the House of Blues was going to begin booking local bands. It appears they are booking local Tribute bands - in the Pontiac Garage (the first floor of the House of Blues).

Absolute jam room
Absolute Rehearsals is booking bands and having different events at their jam room. Friday and Saturday nights are usually rock shows. The second Tuesday of the month features standup comedians, and Wednesdays are “Open Mic nights,” with other nights scheduled as well.
