Harder Beat Magazine Online
We’re back on track this month with more local news and happenings. We heard grumbles last month because the Local Buzz section was particularly non-existent. Our apologies, but we got four large ads at the last minute . It was too late to add more pages and rearrange anything, so copy had to be cut.

Even though the summer concert season is over, there’s still LOTS of concerts - national and locally. Check out the National Concert Calendar and our various club ads.

Welcome to new advertiser Boss Rehearsals this month and to new distribution in Albuquerque.

Within Chaos members barely escape death
Local, now nationally-signed artists, Within Chaos escaped their burning RV with only minor smoke inhalation. The Koch Records band was driving through the Smokey Mountains in Tennessee enroute to the CMJ festival in New York, when they saw smoke leaking into the back of their vehicle.

Bassist Jim Taylor was driving; the other members were asleep. He pulled over and got everyone out. A UPS driver stopped and used a fire extinguisher, as did a police officer - all without much luck. The band lost everything in the RV - including clothes and their shelter. Luckily the trailer they were pulling was OK. The Red Cross put them up in a hotel and gave them some money for clothes. The next day the members rented a U-Haul and headed to New York to play. Ah yes, the show must go on!
