Denton - Giving the finger to the G.O.P since 2004
Denton is home to more ass-kickin’ good bands than cases of police brutality in Los Angeles. Every genre of music is properly represented here — many of which you might not know exist. Pop-punk is no exception.
On a down note, Denton’s own Less Is More is making tracks to Austin. Good luck, amigos. You and your cover of MJ’s “Billie Jean” will be missed.

This month over at Hailey’s, they have more action than The Bunny Ranch would, if they gave out free tabs of ecstasy. You’ll want to keep watch for Lymbyc Systym. They take the stage with This Will Destroy You and Mom. If you’re searching for a show that winds the road less rocked, then put What Laura Says on your must-see list. Also this month, Hailey’s hosts one of the most anticipated shows of the season: Silver Jews and James Jackson Toth.

Down the road at Rubber Gloves, they’ve booked more shit than Danno. You can’t miss the return of Weedeater, who will rock with Little Bighorn and Lychgate. Houston’s own, The Jonbenet, go on properly with The Dead See, The Broadcast Sea and Soviet. You seriously don’t want to miss this show. Rock, indeed.
If you’re searching for some tunes on the softer side of rock, make tracks over to Dan’s Silverleaf. Enjoy some of their badass frozen mojitos, while you bob your head to the sounds of Sara Jaffee or Paul Slavens.
