When German Metal Queen, Doro Pesch played Houston last June, she had to cut a few songs from the set due to illness. One of those was the beautiful ballad, “Love Me In Black.” A fan (who was at the Houston show) mentioned that to her at her recent Ridglea show, and Doro graciously added his request to the set. After the show, Doro sat on the step of her tour bus and signed autographs and took pictures with fans, many who had not seen her since her Warlock days.
Rock legends UFO signed for fans outside the Dallas House of Blues. Virtuoso guitarist Vinnie Moore was very personable, taking care of fans before and after the show, as did drummer Andy Parker, who now lives in the Dallas area. Singer Phil Mogg signed a few on the way in, while Paul Raymond (keyboards/guitar) did the same on the way out.
Belladonna wouldn’t let anything stop them from making their show at the Rockstar including not one, but two flat tires! After using their spare on the first blowout, the band knew they were in trouble when they had a second flat. Luckily someone from the Rockstar was able to go pick them up. Joey Belladonna, guitarist Jack Frost and company were extremely friendly, hanging out with fans inside the club, taking pictures and signing autographs throughout the night.
British guitar legend Steve Howe signed for a few lucky fans who caught him before Asia played the House of Blues. The band arrived early in the day to do their backstage meet and greet and planned to leave ASAP after the show. Keyboardist Geoff Downes needed something from the bus before they left, but the door was locked. As he waited for someone to bring the key, Downes signed for the mob waiting outside.
