Andy’s photo of David Coverdale from 2/03
|
I’ve had many memorable moments during my six years with Harder Beat. One of the first concerts I photographed was the Feb. 2003 Scorpions/ Whitesnake/ Dokken show. It’s still one of my fondest memories. David Coverdale is a vocal God to me, and The Scorpions and Dokken were two of my favorite bands growing up. And there I was, in the photo pit - closer than front row! Just as I was about to take another photo of Coverdale, I had this moment where I knew there was NOTHING in the world I’d rather be doing and no place on Earth I’d rather be. Some people search their entire lives for that one perfect moment. I have them on a regular basis. Thank you Linda, for six years of dreams coming true! (Andy Laudano)
Then: Trees
Now: vacant building
Who doesn't know about Trees? It was the place where Kurt Cobain got his ass kicked by a security guard. It was also the first place I ever crowd surfed at! So many great artists and bands played at Trees - you name it they've probably played there. Having to see Trees close the doors for the last time was such a sad feeling for me as well as tons of other people. (Misty Johnson)
Then: Bronco Bowl •
Now: Home Depot
The infamous Bronco Bowl was one of the best places to go see a concert. It had great acoustics, lights and was like Nokia Theater. No matter where you sat you had a good view. Only at the Bronco Bowl would you be able to bowl, play arcades, see a concert, drink and see the local church folk come in after prayer service and have a drink themselves. (Misty Johnson)
